Walk of Witness

Join Us for the Walk of Witness: A Journey of Faith in Chard

As the Easter season approaches, we come together to honor the profound message of sacrifice, love, and hope. This Good Friday, April 18th, 2025, Chard Churches Together invites you to partake in a moving and reflective community event – the Walk of Witness.

What is the Walk of Witness?

The Walk of Witness is a re-enactment of Jesus’ final journey, offering an opportunity to pause, pray, and reflect on His ultimate sacrifice for humanity. Accompanied by the solemn rhythm of a drumbeat, we will trace a path through Chard Town Centre, retracing the steps of Jesus’ last walk. This journey is not just a moment of remembrance but a chance to reflect on the significance of Easter, coming together as a community united in faith and purpose.

When and Where?

  • Date: Good Friday, April 18th, 2025
  • Time: 10:00 AM
  • Starting Point: Outside ‘The Baptist Church’
  • Route Highlights: Pausing at the ‘Lacemill’ and ‘Guildhall’
  • Ending Point: At the ‘Welcome to Chard’ stone at the bottom of town

As we journey together, we invite you to experience the meaning behind each step, guided by prayer and reflection.

Refreshments to Share and Celebrate

The walk will conclude with a warm welcome at the English Martyrs Church, where we’ll share fellowship over free refreshments, including the timeless Easter favorite – hot cross buns! It’s a wonderful way to connect with others and celebrate the hope and love that Easter represents.

A Timeless Reminder of Sacrifice and Redemption

This year’s theme resonates deeply: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

In this time of reflection, we remember the incredible love and sacrifice of Jesus, who laid down His life for us. His journey reminds us of the eternal hope we hold in faith.

Come join us this Good Friday to honour this sacred journey together. Bring your friends, family, and neighbours as we reflect on love, sacrifice, and the unwavering hope that Easter brings to our lives.
